Revista Florencia is an independent Venezuelan digital medium, non profit, founded in 2017. It was born in the midst of a deep political, economic and social crisis in the country, with the main objective of generating an independent and depolarized space that gives room for new voices, students and researchers; to understand and discuss the country and its different expressions in the social, economic, humanistic and political sciences; prioritizing analytical and scientifically based intellectual productions.
Revista Florencia is a space that promotes democratic values and that bets on the reconstruction of the country from the research and discussion of ideas that lead to the solution of the serious problems that currently afflict the country.
This digital magazine collects the updated analyzes of the work team in its various areas of specialization, articles by invited researchers and interviews with various national and international actors.
Guido Revete. Founder and director of Revista Florencia. Sociologist from Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), with a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Studies in Governance and Political Management from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB) and candidate for Master in Political and Government Studies at the Universidad Metropolitana (UNIMET). Throughout his professional career, he has been able to specialize in qualitative research and conjuncture analysis focused on current political, economic and social issues, mainly on the Venezuelan case.
Malfred Gerig. Executive Director of Laboratorio Estratégico and collaborator of the political and geopolitical economy area of Revista Florencia. Sociologist from Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) and candidate for Master in Political Science from the Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB). He stands out as a researcher with an interest in global political economy and political economy of oil.
Luis Eduardo Barrios A. Collaborator in the geopolitical area of Revista Florencia. Lawyer from Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) and candidate for a Master in International Economic Relations from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). In his career, he has specialized in international relations and geopolitics.
